Attended the first ever Womens Only Rock N Roll Fantasy camp with Nancy Wilson, Melissa Etheridge, Kathy Valentine, Orianthi and superstar counselors. This was a life changing , supportive and empowering the experience. Her guitar yoda suggested she put together a band... for fun and give others the rock experience. She and Katie always said they would put together a band like the Angry Housewives play. EYF Cornflakes!
Paige has always loved music, having played the flute and piccolo many years ago. In early 2023, at age 59, she decided that playing the drums had always seemed like fun, so she took a few lessons, and wouldn't ya know...she's having a blast!! She mentioned it on Facebook, Linda took notice, and after a coffee and some fun discussion, the Granny Panties were born! Rock on!!!

Katie’s love of music and piano started at a very young age. As a toddler, a toy piano was the major source of joy, and lots of noise for her parents. A music obsession was born. In grade school, the piano lessons began, first by a family friend. Shortly after, classical training began, which continued through her junior high years. Since very young, she also discovered playing by ear, and enjoyed emulating what she heard. Participation in school and church choirs were also inspirational, with their sounds and the textures of sounds. All these sources and influences shaped her love of music, in most all it’s forms.
Most of the time as a younger adult had been spent playing solo piano pieces for personal enjoyment. She was then approached by her church worship team, who had learned of her piano playing, and was asked to join them. At that point, armed with a synthesizer (a new instrument to her), she learned to incorporate different sounds and play within a band setting. This was different and rewarding in a new way, as she learned the camaraderie and joy of musicians gelling their talents. As she’s been doing this for over 30 years and different projects, she’s learned how to “play well with others”.
Recently, her friend Linda approached her with the fun concept of putting together a “mature” all-female band. After joking around about it being like the “Angry Housewives”, the concept gained momentum. In a very short time, there is now a new band of five rock and blues lovin’ ladies, working on their sound, and hoping to share it soon. Katie is now one of the “Granny Panties”…and totally lovin’ it!
As she takes this bold new step, it’s a great reminder to step out and try something new: You’ve got brains, beauty, and badass determination. Let’s GET IT!”

She sang in her church choir and did concert solos as a kid, became a singing waitress during college, joined a few rock bands over the years and recently had the urge to start an all-female band, when serindipity took over and her buddy Paige posted that they were looking for a lead singer for an all female (“mature”)band! Vocal influences are vast, but these days they are Linda Ronstadt, Sheryl Crow, Neko Case, Over the Rhine, & Susan Tedeschi. She’s been playing acoustic guitar for many years but looking forward to helping out with electric rhythm guitar from time to time too.

Michael Miller was conceived accidentally by two teenagers in the middle of nowhere. He dropped out of high school after having grown weary of being forced to sit in uncomfortable chairs under fluorescent lights while being force- fed useless information that was not always historically accurate. His father had an old Yamaha acoustic guitar & a bunch of song books by artists such as The Eagles, John Cougar Mellencamp, Neil Young & Bob Dylan. Time he would normally be in school he now spent studying chord charts in the back of the books & applying them to the old Yamaha. It wasn’t long before he decided that he wanted to write songs! Not much longer after that epiphany he began collecting items that he might need to pursue such an endeavor. The first such item was a P.A. system that - unbeknownst to him - had been stolen. After a judge that refused to listen to reason sentenced him to return to school after serving 100 hours of community service - he had much less time to practice and kind of gave up on music. Michael has embraced and given up on music many times over the years. The dream of being in a band one day has been a reoccurring theme throughout the years but had just never worked out. It always seemed that just as things were coming to fruition - at least one of the “ band members” got too drunk, too heartbroken or arrested. He finally gave up. After moving to Hawaii 23 years ago, he was introduced to the ukulele and a new spark was fanned. Since that day - he has been back to embracing music whole-heartedly and giving up on it forever. Having been raised by children, he now realizes that neither him nor his parents have any idea how to be adults - but The Granny Panties are the first band that he has been in that has lasted more than two practices - and he hopes for many more to come.

Alli grew up surrounded by music. When she was 7, her granny (unaffiliated) taught her a couple chords on the uke and she was hooked. Piano lessons followed, then she got an acoustic guitar, and before long she was writing moody songs in her basement bedroom. She spent her teens playing guitars/keys/bass and singing lead/backup vocals in her family’s cover band (other members included her dad and her little brother plus a few more not-related-but-still-family guys) and the occasional open mic in college (she’ll still play for free pizza and beer).
These days, Alli continues to write moody songs in her guest bedroom-turned-studio for her project Whiskey Geraldine. And after attending a couple Granny Panties shows as a huge fan, she jumped at the opportunity to play with a band again after a long hiatus. Why wouldn’t she—the Granny Panties features two of Alli’s biggest loves: rock and roll and older women.
